Meet Your Instructors

FOUNDER: Chrystal
Carter, from Lisburn: TESOL Qualified for
more than ten years: Experienced in instruction of both adults and
children, all nationalities and abilities. I have Full Disclosure
Certification and Public Liability Insured. I spent 3 years in
Japan teaching students of all ages and all levels. I have also
taught in various places around the UK since returning home to
Northern Ireland. I know that 'fitting in' was more than just learning the
language, it was also about learning the culture and understanding
the hearts and minds of the people. As I grew up in
Northern Ireland, I will be able to support you, and make Lisburn
feel more like home.

Pilar Bañón López, Spanish, from Belfast, will
travel to Lisburn and the surrounding area.
TEFL and Spanish qualified teacher. I am originally from
Spain, but have been living in English-speaking
countries for three years, so I have an almost-native
command of English. I have taught both English and
Spanish to different levels (from beginners to advanced)
and ages (from five-year-old children to adults), in
different backgrounds (primary and secondary schools,
university, private tuition and language schools), for
different purposes (Spanish: DELE, holidays, degree
level; English: FCE, CAE, degree level) and in different
countries (Spain, UK, Ireland, Czech Republic). I adapt
my lessons to the students’ needs and interests, as I
think every person is different and so are their
motivations. My lessons are taught in a professional and
friendly environment, since students need to be relaxed
and feel confident when learning a new language. When
I’m not working, I like walking, reading, writing and
travelling. I have my Enhanced Disclousure Certificate,
so can teach both children and adults. |

Alister McReynolds, from Magheragall, will
travel to Lisburn and surrounding areas.
I have been a teacher of English since 1974 when I
graduated, with Bachelors Degree in Education, from
Queens University, Belfast. In my 30 plus year
career, I have gained many qualifications and held
positions of great responsibility including 13 years
when I was the Principal & Chief Executive of Lisburn
College of Further and Higher Education. I believe in
building very strong community relationships within
Lisburn, and feel that my talents as a teacher of
English will be of service to Lisburn, and her multi
national society. With my knowledge of the English
Language, and my many years of experience, I hope to
enhance the employability and vastly improve the
lifestyles of the foreign community who have decided to
make Lisburn their home, temporarily or on a more
permanent basis. Outside of Education I have a passion
for the history of Ireland and Scotland and recently
published a book called 'Legacy-The Scots Irish in
America', available to buy on www.amazon.co.uk! ;-)

Catherine Quinn, from Belfast: I am an experienced English and Spanish
teacher having taught in both Spain and Northern
Ireland. I´d like to tutor students to help with their
G.C.S.E and A Level Spanish as well as to teach Spanish
for business and holidays. I also deliver English
classes so if you´re new to Belfast I could help you
enhance your conversational level for your social life
or job. I have tutored three year olds up to eighty year
olds proving that it´s never too late (or too early for
that matter!) so all levels and ages are considered. In
my free time I sing in an acoustic duo with songs in
both English and Spanish and love to travel whenever I
get the chance. I understand firsthand the challenges
that learning a new language can bring and make learning
fun with dynamic and interactive classes.
