Teaching for Children
Standard English classes for children: Children's
classes are available for those who are already in the school
system. These are designed to support the existing school
curriculum but also give children an insight into local youth
culture, pop culture to enable them to fit in and make friends
more easily, in a fun and safe environment.
Homework Assistance: These classes are for small
groups of school children and their parents and will run for a
few sessions for each group to explain the school homework to
parents and students so that once they are familiar with what is
expected of them they can complete it at home from that point
on.
School Assistance: Phoenix Language Academy works
in conjunction with local schools to help pupils already in the
school system who are having problems adjusting to the new
language and the new school environment. If students are
having particular issues, for example, with reading in English,
Phoenix Language Academy can give extra time in that area.
Summer Scheme: Get Ready for School! Phoenix
provides three levels of summer school, for Nursery, Primary and
Secondary aged children who are heading into the school system
and have little or no experience of being in an all English
environment. The lesson is based on the necessary English
language required to settle into school. They give children
confidence and reassures them that they can make themselves
understood enough to go it alone at school and make new friends.
The eight week programme will provide children with a positive
and lasting experience that will enhance their educational
future.
